Ghislaine Maxwell is seeking to have her 20-year prison sentence reduced by her friend Donald Trump.
The 63-year-old was convicted in 2021 for grooming and trafficking underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender who died in jail in 2019.

She is currently incarcerated at a minimum-security federal prison in Texas.
Maxwell’s ties to wealthy and powerful figures have long been a central part of the case, and she enjoyed a decades-long friendship with Trump, even with Prince Andrew.

According to source, Maxwell is now preparing a formal request for Trump to commute her sentence. The claim is supported by an email Maxwell sent to her attorney, Leaf Saffian, reviewed by US broadcaster NBC.
Following the revelation, House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin has today written to Trump demanding information on the request and urging him not to intervene.
