Comedian and Comedy Store UG founder Alex Muhangi is set to appear before City Hall Court tomorrow after being sued by musician Bebe Cool over copyright infringement.

Bebe Cool accuses Muhangi of posting videos of his performances at Comedy Store on their platforms without his consent.

Following their fallout last month, the singer took legal action, leading to Muhangi’s court summons.

Confirming the development on X (formerly Twitter), Muhangi stated:

“Tomorrow at 9 AM, I’ll be appearing in court at City Hall. Please join me if you can. Don’t forget your National ID and LC Letter to stand as surety for me.”

In response to the lawsuit, Muhangi, through his lawyers Elgon Advocates, dismissed Bebe Cool’s claims. In a statement, his legal team argued that the videos were posted solely for promotional purposes and not for monetary gain.

“Our client owes nothing to Bebe Cool in the terms as claimed in your demand notice. Whereas it is true that our client posted videos of Bebe Cool recorded at the show, it was only done for promotional purposes and not for monetary gain.”
