Rwandan Star Bruce Melodie, in a recent interview on Flexx by Galaxy TV, called out Ugandan artists for what he sees as laziness in pushing their music beyond borders.

He argued that while some Ugandan songs do manage to cross into other East African countries, they could make a much bigger impact if artists actually travelled—not just for shows, but to actively promote their work on TVs, radios, and by connecting with fans directly.
To drive his point home, Bruce gave himself as an example: whenever he drops a big song, he makes it a point to pass through Kampala.
And it’s not just about performing—he deliberately shows up to let people know he has fresh music that deserves attention.
In his view, that kind of hands-on hustle is what keeps his songs alive across the region, and it’s exactly what Ugandan artists are missing.
“Each time I have a big song, I make sure I pass by Kampala and let people know that I have new music I just released. For example, I am here to push my new collaboration with Diamond Platnumz titled Pom Pom,” said Bruce Melodie.
