Musician Clever J has opened up about the state of his marriage, revealing that he moved out of his matrimonial home following a bitter fallout with his wife.
The singer, who last year made headlines after his wife accused him of associating with individuals allegedly involved in witchcraft and plotting to harm her, says the tension at home became unbearable. Although he strongly denied the accusations at the time, the controversy strained their relationship even further.
According to Clever J, he has now spent nearly six months away from the home they once shared.
“I have spent six months not being there. Since you saw her chasing Power Kid from home, I tried to mediate but it didn’t work,” he explained. “I saw that peace would only be there if I don’t live with her, and she also prefers it that way.”
The singer said the decision to move out was not about abandoning his responsibilities but about restoring calm. For now, he has shifted his focus to completing a house for his father so that he can stop renting. After that, he plans to look for his own place to avoid future conflicts.
“I left everything there including the children and the studio. If they want something, like how my son Jeremiah asked me for UGX 150,000, I will send,” he said. “Whenever I get something, I’ll send them. But I didn’t leave my marriage — I just left the house to God.”
Despite the separation, Clever J insists he remains committed to supporting his children financially and emotionally. However, it remains unclear whether reconciliation is still possible or if the couple will eventually formalize their separation.
