Singer Desire Luzinda has opened up about her close bond with her daughter, Michelle, saying that although she is now mature and independent, she still seeks her permission before going out.
Desire revealed that she was very intentional in raising her daughter to not only see her as a mother but also as a friend, while maintaining clear boundaries. This balance, she says, has strengthened their relationship over the years.
“Sometimes I hear her telling me I’m actually tough and I’m like, really?! Because my no is always a no and a yes is a yes. I’m glad she knows when to pick that. Today she still calls me when she wants to go out,” Desire said.
Michelle, who mostly lives away from home because of school, continues to respect her mother’s guidance despite her independence.
Desire says this shows the values she instilled in her daughter are paying off, and she cherishes the strong mother-daughter bond they share.
