Singer Gloria Bugie has revealed that marriage is not on her priority list anytime soon, as she remains focused on building her music career and representing Uganda on a bigger stage.

Speaking in a recent interview, the 20-year-old singer made it clear that she still considers herself young and has no plans of settling down.
“I am not yet a woman, I’m still a little girl. I only made 20 years old recently. I don’t have a boyfriend because I don’t want one yet,” Bugie said. “I have so many important things I would like to achieve and also represent my country, Uganda before I settle down for marriage.”
The singer emphasized that her current focus is on growth, success, and flying Uganda’s flag high through her music. According to her, relationships and marriage can wait until she has accomplished her dreams.
Bugie also weighed in on the ongoing debate about the state of Uganda’s music industry, particularly claims that it has become boring due to a lack of public feuds between artists.
She dismissed the idea that beef is necessary to keep the industry vibrant.
“I don’t understand how beef can be useful; that’s why we are still backwards. Other industries like the Nigerians are busy supporting and pushing each other and have even penetrated the American fanbases, but we are here beefing,” she said. “Beef hasn’t taken us anywhere. I personally stay away from it. I can’t fight fellow females.”
Her comments come at a time when sections of fans argue that rivalries help boost publicity and streams.
However, Bugie believes collaboration and mutual support are the keys to taking Uganda’s music to international markets, just like Nigerian artists who have successfully crossed over to global audiences.
For now, Gloria Bugie is choosing ambition over romance, unity over rivalry, and growth over controversy as she continues to carve her path in the industry.
