Grenade Official has been released following his arrest in Beijing, China, on Sunday, June 15.

The singer was detained over the weekend for allegedly violating Chinese immigration laws by performing at multiple events while on a tourist visa.

The incident came to light when Grenade’s management issued a statement on social media confirming his arrest and detention.

According to his manager, Joram Mukisa, the singer traveled to China on a tourist visa but went on to perform at a show — an action that is strictly prohibited without a valid work permit in the country.

Grenade was released on Monday, June 16, 2025. Taking to his social media shortly after regaining his freedom, the singer shared a brief but grateful message with his fans: “God is good. Am free.”
