Ugandan singer Gloria Bugie has finally addressed criticism surrounding her choice of outfits, saying she dresses the way she does because of comfort and possible health concerns.
Bugie, who has often been called out by some netizens for what they describe as “indecent” dressing, defended herself shortly after her performance at Comedy Store UG on Wednesday.
Speaking to journalists after getting off stage, the singer explained that her fashion choices are not meant to provoke anyone but are simply about staying comfortable while performing.
“I am comfortable with these clothes. Don’t you see how I am sweating? You see I’m sweating in these short ones — what about when I’m wearing a sharia, how would I be?” Bugie said.
The singer revealed that she sweats excessively and suspects she could have a health condition that contributes to it. According to her, wearing long outfits would only make the situation worse, especially under hot stage lights.
“I would be dripping with sweat if I wore long clothes, so I have to breathe fresh air. Please bear with me,” she added.
