Singer Jamal Wasswa has opened up about why fans do not see him perform frequently, saying his decision is intentional and rooted in maintaining quality rather than chasing every available opportunity.

Speaking about his approach to live performances, Jamal revealed that he deliberately avoids certain venues, even when the pay is attractive, because the sound and overall production setup do not meet his standards.

According to the artiste, performing in poorly organized spaces can have a long-term negative impact on an artiste’s brand.

Jamal believes that constant appearances on stages with weak sound and low-quality production can lower an artiste’s value in the eyes of fans.

He argues that if audiences repeatedly see an artiste performing in substandard venues, it becomes difficult to later convince them to pay for tickets to a well-organized concert.

Sometimes there are stages we do not perform on because of quality, regardless of the money. I think that is why people continue loving us,” Jamal said.

You find someone performing almost everywhere, even where they should not, not even minding the quality of the sound. So how do you expect people to pay money to come and see you at your show? It is almost impossible.”

The singer emphasized that selectiveness has helped him preserve his image and keep fans interested whenever he announces a performance. For Jamal Wassea, fewer shows with high standards are better than frequent performances that compromise quality.
