Ugandan singer Karole Kasita has candidly spoken about the realities of motherhood, revealing that raising her son has become more challenging as he grows older.
Kasita explained that motherhood felt relatively easier in the early stages when her child was still a toddler. At that time, she says, the demands were minimal because toddlers do not talk much or actively ask for attention, making the experience less stressful.
However, she now views motherhood differently as her son continues to grow. According to Kasita, the emotional and time demands have increased significantly.
“Now he needs your love, and as he grows up, it becomes more and more complicated because he needs more of your time and he can ask for it unlike before,” she shared.
The singer also opened up about the difficulty of balancing her fast-paced music career with the responsibilities of being a mother. She admitted that juggling the two has become increasingly hard, but says she remains strong and committed to holding everything together for her child.
Kasita further highlighted the different roles played by mothers and fathers in parenting. While acknowledging that her son’s father plays his part, she emphasized that mothers often carry the heavier emotional and nurturing responsibilities.
“The father does what he’s supposed to do. Fathers are normally providers, they make sure everything is moving right, but the mother makes sure the child is raised right, and that’s the biggest part of raising a kid,” she explained.
