Shifrah, the dancer who shot to fame after her electric appearance in D-Star’s viral Hoozambe video, has opened up about what life has really been like since the spotlight dimmed.

Two years ago, her dance moves turned her into an overnight sensation. Fame followed fast—brand deals, public attention, and recognition everywhere she went. For Shifrah, a young mother at the time, it felt like a dream come true.

The sudden success gave her financial freedom and, most importantly, the ability to take care of her child on her own.

Speaking to UNCUT on Sanyuka Television, she reminisced about how thrilling that period was and how much it changed her life.

“Being famous brought me a lot of money,” she said. “I managed to rent my own house and take care of my home and my child. It felt really good. I even had bouncers.”

But as Shifrah has come to learn, fame is rarely permanent.

Today, life looks very different. She now takes on any job she can find just to make ends meet. “I do whatever comes my way, as long as it pays,” she admitted honestly. Ironically, the same image that once opened doors is now holding her back. Many employers, she says, still see her as the Hoozambe TikTok vixen rather than someone capable of fitting into other roles.

People fail to give me jobs because they still see me in that picture of a TikToker, yet life has changed,” she explained.

Shifrah didn’t hide how painful that transition has been. Losing fame, she confessed, hurts deeply. Still, she refuses to give up. Despite the setbacks and disappointments, she continues to push forward, determined to build a future beyond the viral moment that once defined her.
