City businessman and socialite Lwasa, now known as Lwasa Acram after converting to Islam, has spoken out following his arrest and arraignment in court over allegations of failing to clear a UGX 21 million debt owed to a pork seller.

According to the complainant, Lwasa reportedly borrowed the money but failed to pay back. However, the Masaka-based businessman has dismissed the claims as false and malicious.
Lwasa insists he has never borrowed money from a pork seller, questioning how someone in that line of business would raise such a huge amount to lend.
“He never gave me the money. Who sells pork and is able to get 21 million to lend to someone? That’s why the judge saw the charges were nonsensical and he gave me bail,”
he said while addressing the media after court.
He further explained that he had to call his wife from Masaka to come and stand surety for him so he could be granted bail, emphasizing that he is being wrongfully accused.
Despite the drama, Lwasa maintains he is far from broke, dismissing rumours about his financial troubles.
He confidently stated that he can sustain his lifestyle comfortably:
“I’m not broke. I have enough to eat for four months nonstop.”
With bail secured, Lwasa says he is ready to prove his innocence as the case proceeds.
