Legendary Ugandan music producer Magic Washington has expressed disappointment in local artists who celebrate what he calls “bare-minimum success,” such as buying cars and houses.

Speaking in an interview at NRG Radio, Magic Washington said that while owning a car or a house is good, these achievements should not make one feel superior to others.
He believes Ugandan artists should aim higher and work towards building lasting brands and businesses.
“Why should a car or house make you feel like you’ve made it?” Washington asked. “Those are basic achievements. We should be celebrating real milestones like launching clothing lines, perfume lines, shoe companies, or even headphones.”
Magic Washington is known for his unmatched contribution to Uganda’s music industry for over two decades.
His comments have sparked conversations about the true definition of success in the entertainment world.
