It has come to our attention that the site of Makerere University, particularly the college of Information and computer technology site has been compromised. The mobile version of the site has been hacked and as we speak if you are a minor, I suggest you stop reading from here. As of today 13th of June, the site when checked on a mobile phone leads to an adult content site. Try it yourself if you’re not a minor.
As tech gurus we are trying to find the root cause of this but as far as we know, in the world of hacking, everything is possible. The mobile version of www.cis.ac.ug leads to a dirty adult content site.
Lately Makerere has had several issues with hacking of their sites especially the section of marks. Recently it was discovered that a mechanical engineering student was engaged in hacking of the academic registrars accounts and site and was able to change marks for students for a whopping sum of 2M Ugx. As we speak he has been caught and he is behind bars.
