Legendary Ugandan musician Mesach Semakula has once again firmly stated that his hard-earned assets will not automatically be inherited by his children.

Speaking in an interview with Allan Cruz Xclusive, Semakula made it clear that everything he owns belongs to him, stressing that he understands the struggles and sacrifices he endured to acquire his wealth. Because of that, he does not feel obligated to pass on his property or assets to his children.

According to Semakula, the only thing his children are entitled to—regardless of their age, even if they lived to be 100 years old—is education.

He explained that this decision is deeply rooted in his own painful experiences of growing up without access to proper education.

“I decided to give that to my kids. There are things I grew up desiring, like studying from schools like King’s College Buddo,” Semakula said.

The singer further warned that entitlement is one of the biggest reasons wealthy families lose their fortunes and legacy.

He noted that some children are raised to only receive and never learn how to create or add value, which eventually leads to the collapse of family wealth.
