NTV Uganda’s Managing Director, Ms. Aggie Konde, was recently called to Nairobi to face the Nation Media Bosses following media reports indicating that all was not well at the Serena based station. And it has since been reported that Ms. Aggie Konde was severely grilled by her bosses.
Among the first things she did on her return from Nairobi was to re-call Harriet Namayanja, former Head of Production. But Harriet told her, “I have moved on my friend.”
The staff also report that she has since toned down on her ‘harsh tone’ and is quite receptive and listens to the staff’s grievances.
Also, they have resumed filming some programs they had put on hold, and some of the recent ‘substandard’ programs are to be scrapped off. It is rumoured that ‘Be My Date’ might not survive.
Also the News Director, Maurice Mugisha’s has expressed his dislike for the ‘Andrew Mwenda’ segment in the news because the response from the public is mostly negative and Maurice himself finds Mwenda misleading of late.
