Anticipation is growing around Play It Loud, a new Ugandan streaming platform set to launch on 10 December, following a quiet but strategic wave of high-profile creator signings shared across social media.

Over the past weeks, teaser clips, online posts and behind-the-scenes footage have revealed a long list of major personalities joining the platform. Among the names spotted are Katrina Nilzero, Bad Black, Mami Deb, Tindi, Edwin Mukalazi, Natasha Sinayobye, Prim Asiimwe, Anne Kansiime, Azeezah, Evelyn Mic, Pablo, Troy Kente, Faisal, Kingsley, Marijan, Patra, Brian Ahumuza (Abryanz), Kato Katende, Akelly, Ken Katuramu, Ken Kayongo, DJ Vee, Keith Malembe, Diana Kahunde, Eyo Mackus, Stella Nantumbwe, Comedy Store, Zari, Navio and many others yet to be officially announced.

The calibre and diversity of these creators have strengthened speculation that Play It Loud is preparing one of the most ambitious digital entertainment rollouts in the region.

Industry observers believe the platform’s aggressive talent-driven strategy signals a major shift toward empowering African creators.

Commentators say this move could help reduce reliance on brand deals and limited platform visibility, allowing Ugandan and African creators to own their content, build long-term intellectual property and monetise their work at scale.

Many also view it as a step toward positioning Uganda more strongly within Africa’s growing digital economy.

With the full creator roster still under wraps, interest continues to rise as the launch date approaches.
