Uganda has entered a new chapter in digital entertainment with the official launch of Play It Loud, a creator-first streaming platform designed to transform the African content landscape.

The launch took place on Wednesday at Mestil Hotel Nsambya, attracting a large gathering of creators, industry leaders, and media personalities.

The highly anticipated event followed weeks of excitement, fueled by the platform’s rapid signing of top Ugandan creators.

Play It Loud has already enrolled a strong lineup of comedians, influencers, musicians, and media figures, showing its commitment to supporting and showcasing local talent.

Unlike a traditional corporate reveal, the launch event doubled as a celebration of Uganda’s growing creative influence.

Many of the country’s biggest entertainment names, who are already part of the platform, attended the ceremony.

Their presence demonstrated the industry’s trust in Play It Loud’s mission — treating creators as partners rather than just content suppliers.

Guests were treated to powerful performances, exclusive showcases, and behind-the-scenes previews of upcoming content.

Social media platforms were flooded with videos and reactions, further spreading the message that Play It Loud is ready to disrupt the digital space.

Shafik Nekambuza, the Commercial & Strategy Lead at Play It Loud, emphasized the company’s purpose during the launch.

We didn’t just build a streaming platform, we built an economic engine for creators. Play It Loud is designed to help African storytellers produce great content, build bankable intellectual property, and connect their stories to the rest of the world,” he said.

With this vision, Play It Loud positions Uganda as a future content powerhouse for the continent. The platform aims to become the central hub for monetisation, distribution, and global access, opening new opportunities for African creators to share their stories with the world.
