Ugandan singer Rachel K, born Rachel Kiwanuka, has opened up about her family life, revealing how different religious beliefs coexist peacefully under one roof.

Speaking candidly, Rachel K shared that her mother, legendary singer Halima Namakula, is a devoted and practicing Muslim. Her sister, fellow singer Rema Namakula, also follows Islam.
Despite their different faiths, Rachel K says their bond as a family has never been shaken. Instead, she describes their relationship as deeply supportive and rooted in mutual respect.
“She gave us the option of, ‘Believe in something, I will support you,’” Rachel K said, referring to her mother. “She is a devoted, very serious Muslim woman, and so is my sister Rema, but they are my top supporters. It is really beautiful. As long as you have a way of life and you believe in something, that is what is important.”
Rachel K, who identifies as a minister, says her spiritual journey plays a central role in both her life and career. She explained that she wants to use her musical talent as a tool to spread positivity, hope, and the goodness of God.
“I am a minister, and I want to use my talent to spread the goodness of God, share positivity and hope, and uplift people,” she added.
