Following the successful Darasa engagement that marked the beginning of its Ramadan journey, Royco has continued its community outreach through a series of Iftar gatherings at different mosques and regions across Uganda.
The Iftar engagements bring together sheikhs, sheikats, mosque leaders, and members of the Muslim community to break the fast in unity and reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.
By supporting these gatherings, Royco reaffirms its commitment to walking alongside the Muslim community throughout the sacred season — from preparation during Darasa to shared meals during Iftar.
Speaking during one of the Iftar gatherings, Grace Nandawula, CSP Manager at Unilever, noted:
“Iftar is a deeply meaningful moment during Ramadan. It is when families and communities come together after a day of fasting. We are honored to support these moments of unity and gratitude across different communities.”
Empowering communities to give back
As part of this year’s Ramadan engagement, Royco also launched a nationwide community giving initiative aimed at amplifying the spirit of generosity that defines the holy month.
Consumers are encouraged to visit their nearest supermarket and purchase a tin of Royco. Inside each tin, they will find a special Ramadan tag inviting them to indicate the mosque they would like Royco to visit and support. Participants are also given the opportunity to donate any amount toward community initiatives during Ramadan.
At the end of the fasting period, Royco will collect all contributions and double the total amount raised, multiplying the generosity shown by communities. The combined funds will then be distributed as donations to selected mosques during Eid celebrations.
This initiative ensures that communities are not only beneficiaries of support but also active participants in deciding where impact is created.

Royco’s Ramadan engagement continues beyond a single Iftar, with activities taking place across multiple mosques and regions throughout the holy month. These engagements are centered on respect, community, and the shared values of generosity and togetherness.
