Royco yesterday officially commenced its 2026 Ramadan engagement with a Darasa session held at Hotel Africana, bringing together Sheikhs, Sheikats, and representatives from various mosques across Kampala.
The Darasa, a preparatory engagement ahead of the start of Ramadan, focused on reflection, spiritual grounding, and community unity as Muslims prepare for the holy month.
By beginning its Ramadan journey with Darasa this year, Royco reaffirmed its commitment to walking alongside the Muslim community from the very start of the sacred season.
While Royco supported Ramadan activities last year, this year’s engagement began earlier with Darasa emphasizing the importance of preparation, knowledge, and intentionality before the fasting period begins.
Speaking at the gathering, the Royco Brand Representative noted that Ramadan is a season rooted in generosity, compassion, and togetherness.
“We are honored to begin this Ramadan journey with Darasa a moment of reflection and preparation. For us, this is about standing with the Muslim community not just during Iftar, but from the very beginning of the holy month.”
Community Giving Initiative:
As part of this year’s Ramadan engagement, Royco also unveiled a nationwide community giving initiative designed to amplify the spirit of generosity.
Muslims and well-wishers are encouraged to visit their nearest supermarket and purchase a tin of Royco. Inside each tin, they will find a special Ramadan tag.
On this tag, participants are invited to indicate the mosque they would like Royco to visit and support.
They are also given the opportunity to donate any amount towards community initiatives during the holy month.
At the end of Ramadan, Royco will collect all contributions and double the total amount raised, reinforcing the collective spirit of giving.
The combined funds will then be distributed as donations to selected mosques during Eid celebrations.
This initiative allows communities to directly participate in deciding where support goes, while ensuring their generosity is amplified for greater impact.
Ongoing Ramadan Engagement:
The Darasa marked the beginning of a broader Ramadan journey that will include a series of Iftar gatherings across different mosques and regions throughout the holy month.
Through these engagements, Royco continues to support meaningful community moments rooted in unity, reflection, and shared meals.
