Ugandan songstress Spice Diana has pushed back against the long-held belief that artists lose relevance once they part ways with long-time managers, insisting that her journey will prove otherwise.

Speaking out days after confirming her split with manager Roger Lubega, Spice Diana said the idea that artists “fade” after management changes is outdated and misguided.
The pair quietly went separate ways nearly a year ago, ending a working relationship that spanned more than a decade, but only made it public this week.
According to Spice Diana, changing management is no different from people changing jobs in search of better opportunities. “That’s a very ancient mentality,” she said, noting that people who move on in their careers don’t flop — they often grow and improve.
She also had strong words for critics who are quick to predict failure. “Stop thinking for people and their lives. You’re just a human being like me. Nobody knows my future, so you leave it to God to decide. At the end of the day, all of us are just passers in this life,” she remarked.
Reflecting on her journey, the singer said life is unpredictable and full of unexpected turns. She revealed that when she was just starting out, she never imagined she would one day work with Roger Lubega, but she remains grateful for everything they achieved together.
Spice Diana credited her former managers for playing key roles at different stages of her career. She first worked with Emma Carlos, who elevated her to a new level, before teaming up with Roger, who, she says, placed her in a very good space in the industry.
Now entering a fresh chapter, the singer says she is currently working with Ganto and Frank Mars, people she trusts and believes have already done a commendable job.
With confidence and gratitude for her past, Spice Diana maintains that her story is far from over — and that the next phase of her career could be even bigger.
