News reaching our desk is that Renowned Vision Group journalist at the same time Elimia Masembe, alias Omubi Masembe has quit his job to join politics.

Speaking to our reporter after receiving the National Unity Platform membership card on Thursday, Masembe revealed he had dumped the TV job to pursue a career into active politics.

The ‘Ani Asinga’ program host on Bukedde TV, said he is thoroughly equipped and focused to serve the people in Makindye given the fact that he resigned from his TV gig.

This is our time and we should effectively use it to smoothen a new path for our generation. That’s why I chose to serve my people in Makindye over my delicious job and salary,” stated Masembe.

It is also a legal formality for media personalities in Uganda to choose between running a political career or maintaining their places at work.

This is because of the need for equality when running their political campaigns against their counterparts.

Masembe’s decision comes in after almost 10 years serving as a video editor, producer at Bukedde TV and at times presenter at the Industrial Area, Kampala-based media company.

We will keep you posted.
