Government has recognized and offered to help new leader of opposition in Parliament, Betty Aol Ochan.
Betty Aol was appointed last week in a reshuffle by the FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat.
Government Chief Whip, Ruth Nankabirwa during plenary, congratulated.
Nankabirwa said: “I assures her of government support as the position is provided for in the law.”
She added: “I want to also congratulates outgoing leader of opposition Winfred Kiiza and other MPs appointed by the Opposition.”
Aol asks deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah to suspend plenary for the Opposition to go and re-organise.
The new opposition leader called for dialogue saying that everyone has something to offer.
She said: “Team up with me in this office in the service of the people through constructive opposition through our constitution.”
