Police in Buyende district is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 38-year-old fisherman whose body was this morning found lying in his boat at Bukungu landing site in Kidera Sub County.
A source at the landing site who spoke to our reporter, on condition of anonymity, said that Steven Bawukanya could have been killed by fellow fishermen.
The deceased was last seen alive last evening at around 6:30pm, along the landing site.
A postmortem report released by Kidera health center IV shows that Bawukanya’s body had a deep wound at the back of his neck and left ear.
Michael Kasadha, the Busoga North Police spokesperson says they have interrogated some of the locals who allege that their colleague was murdered and investigations are ongoing
