As high levels of unemployment are still stiffing the younger population, President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday 16th January 2019 asked students graduating at Makerere University to seek opportunities as Musicians or Comedians as an alternative if they fail to land jobs in their respective fields.
Speaking on the 69th graduation ceremony as the guest of honour, the president advised students from the College of humanities to focus on developing their management skills as others try out Comedy and music.
“It is not true that there are no jobs in Uganda. What is lacking is organisation; part of it among the youth. If one fails to attain a job in either public or private organisations, they can opt for music or comedy just like Kato Lubwana (Rubaga South MP) who is also in Parliament,” Mr Museveni said.
