Police this morning shot three suspected robbers in Kireka- Bira Village in Wakiso District. The trio was gunned down at 2am this while trying to rob the home of Godfrey Atukwatse.

Police was called by Atukwatse’s neighbors when they saw six men armed with machetes ferrying items from their victim’s house to a waiting vehicle. Mustapha Bogere, a resident of Bira Village, says they heard screams from Atukwatse’s home around 2am.

Police shot three suspected robbers and disabled them but three others managed to get away with some of the stolen property. Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, says the injured were rushed to Mulago while those on the run are being tracked down.

MEANWHILE , Luke also revealed that Police in Kabale is holding two people on allegations of motorcycle theft. He identified the duo as Valence Mwesigye; the prime suspect, aged 26 who hails from Kagunga cell Nyaruhanga Parish Ikumba s/c Rubanda district and one Rogers Nuwagaba 22 ;a resident of Kitooro ,in Entebbe.

The two were arrested from Namasuba Kampala trying to sell the Bajaj motor cycle reg number UEA 002 N which had been stolen from its rider one Jonh Bizimana at Butobere junction in Kabale municipality at around midnight on 16/01/19.

It’s alleged that the prime suspect disguised as a passenger who met the rider at his boda boda stage at Cloud’s View in Kabale township and said was going to Butobere. On their, he hit the rider with an iron bar and took off with the motorcycle to Kampala where he connected with Rogers for a buyer as luke expounds.
