Police in Kabale district are holding four people over alleged theft of animals.

The suspects were arrested yesterday morning at around 7:20AM from Butobere about one kilometer to Kabale town.  The suspects were found transporting twelve goats in a Totota Premio registration number UAH 276W.

The suspects include; the driver of the car Naboth Ahimbisibwe aged 32, Danson Tindimwebwa ,32 all residents of Kebisoni Town council in Rukungiri District,  Edson Byamukama ,33, a resident of Kiguha village,  Nyakagyeme sub county, Rukungiri district and Ivan Sebuliba ,43, a resident of Kyabakuza sub county in Masaka district.

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate says that the suspects were intercepted and arrested by police patrol after none of them failed to present documentations about the animals they were transporting.

 Maate also says that police swung into action to arrest the suspects after realizing that they are transporting a big number of animals in a Toyota Premio instead of a Lorry as advised.

He says that the suspects are being held at Kabale Police station for questioning.
