Residents of Kawaala zone Rubaga Division, Kampala are leaving in fear after an unidentified girl in her 20’s was murdered and her body dumped in Lubijji drainage channel along the northern bypass.
It is suspected that the girl’s head was hit with a sharp object in the wee hours of today.
The residents have decried the increasing cases of murder and robbery by a group of goons along the bypass. The gangsters, who reportedly target people who use the bypass in the night and early in the morning as they go for work, sometimes, kill those who try to fight back.
Some of the residents who spoke to our reporter said more than five people have been robbed and killed in a space of just one month.
They have appealed to government to come to their rescue and install CCTV cameras.
Kampala metropolitan assistant police spokesperson ,Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the murder, saying that her body was taken to Mulago mortuary for postmortem as the police investigation continues.
