Well, the police say they have started tracing suspects who might be behind the defacing of the currency notes and the social media posts.
A senior police officer has warned those with notes written on “vote Bobi Wine for president” to tread carefully lest they will end in jail.
The officer speaking to the media said they had instructed business people to alert them in case someone comes with the notes such that they can apprehend them and confiscate the notes.
The Central Bank has also condemned the behaviour, saying risks the security features on the notes, causing a loss for the country
