Police has finally found a boy who has been missing for the past two months.
Success Mwesigwa, who disappeared from Little Angel Day and Boarding School in Kampala in October this year, was picked by police and handed to Re-Track Uganda a Child care center.
His parents had filed a case of his disappearance at Kampala Central Police Station and tasked the school authorities to produce their child.
Mwesigwa’s parents claim they received a phone call from the school inquiring whether their son was home since he was untraceable at the boarding section for two days.
The school also opened a case of a missing child. Police however charged the school administration with failure to prevent a felony.
Police then embarked on a joint security investigation with a team of officers from the Flying Squad-FSU, Criminal Investigations Directorate –CID and Child and Family Protection Unit –CFPU deploying to hunt for Mwesigwa’s whereabouts.
However, records from the Child and Family Protection Unit showed the child was picked by officers from CPS the same day he disappeared from school taken to CFPU.
CFPU also handed the minor to an officer connected Re-Track Child care center.
The Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed that the boy was picked by officers from Kampala Central Police Station.
He however, says there was confusion when the minor gave police the name of a school in Mpigi District instead.
