An American family in Uganda is nursing serious injuries following an attack on their residence by a gang of machete welding thugs.
The raided residence at Kiira Zone, Njeru Municipality belongs to one Mathew Palm who also operates an orphanage in the area.
It is alleged that on Thursday evening, a gang of an unspecified number of armed thugs stormed the home, clobbered, and displaced the security guard before breaking into the house using hammers.
The injured including home’s security guard Hope Wafula.,Mathew Palm, Lovely Palm the mother and their children Nicole and Cloe.
Police in Njeru Municipality, Buikwe District have launched investigations into circumstances under which the foreign family was assaulted.
Hellen Butoto, the Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson, some neighbors who heard the victims crying for help, alerted police officers who rushed to the area.
The victims are currently hospitalized at Nile International Hospital in Jinja.
