Tuesday 28th July 2020 is the D-day for the official declaration of 3 legislators to join the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
Kampala city lord mayor Erias Lukwago, Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze, Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante and Makindye MP Allan Ssewanyana have today officially declared their intentions to join the FDC .
FDC leaders and Supporters loyal to the 4 converts have painted the offices at Najjanankumbi blue with all clad in the FDC party T-shirts with posters of the now potential flag bearers to the party.
It is largely rumored that the Lord Mayor is being highly considered to replace Col Dr Kizza Besigye as the flag bearer for the FDC in the 2021 presidential elections.
Besigye has recently been quoted as saying he is still contemplating his return for the 5th tome and will declare his position on standing for the presidency in the near future.
The FDC deputy spokesperson John Kikonyogo says top FDC officials are yet to convince Besigye to stand against Museveni. t
The FDC yesterday postponed its nominations from Thursday 30th to August 3rd because of Eid al Adha celebrations happening on Friday.
