Many are awaiting the pronouncement of Dr. Kizza Byesigye on holding the Opposition Forum for democratic change FDC party flag for Presidential contender ahead of the 2021 general elections as the party kicks off a 2-day presidential nomination exercise.
The process that was meant to take place last week on Thursday and Friday was extended to Monday 3rd August 2020 because of EID celebrations.
The two-day exercise will take place at the party headquarters in Najjankumbi between 10 am and 5 pm daily.
FDC spokesperson, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda says only serious candidates with the requisite qualifications are advised to pick nomination forms.
Dr.Besigye has recently been quoted as saying he is still contemplating his return for the 5th tome and will declare his position on standing for the presidency in the near future.
Meanwhile, efforts to convince Besigye to stand against President Museveni for the 4th time in arow have reportedly not been fruitful as yet.
However , many have argued that the conversion of former DP member and lord mayor Erias Lukwago was a strategic move as he is reportedly rumored to replace Col Dr. Kizza Besigye as the flag bearer for the FDC in the 2021 presidential elections.
Lukwago has since trashed those rumors as untrue although he hasn’t outrightly declared whether he will stand for the presidency or not.
