According to the Uganda Police quarterly report on crime rates,the curve has gone high and this is attributed to reported offences.

The report released on Wednesday says police have recorded 60 major offences,62 arrests and 39 deaths.

Police mouthpiece Fred Enanga says police has also revealed that cases of sexual and domestic violence are also on the increase and this has led to loss of lives and multiple arrests of suspects.

“We continue to register deaths arising from domestic violence due to conflicts among couples and misunderstanding between relatives over family property and also issues of drunkenness,” Enanga said.

Enanga however says that the police community liaison officers have formed partnerships with the various stakeholders to continuously sensitize the public to always seek peaceful means of resolving dispute domestically and refrain from violence .

The report indicates that 6 guns and 510 rounds of ammunition from robbers, kidnappers and others that were hidden by the suspected criminals.

In this quarter ,in Kampala, loaded guns were recovered from Makindye, Sabagabo municipality and Bugolobi market

Security also got illegal guns from Kasese and Kween districts with 280 rounds of ammunition.

Police mouthpiece Fred Enanga was pleased with the various crime crack units that have been successful in the swift recovery of the illegal guns.
