It seems like the woes between the silent UPC party and the freshest party on the block National Unity Platform over the dominant use of color Red are far from over.
The Uganda Peoples Congress-UPC has in a presser on Wednesday told the National Unity Platform-NUP to stop the public bickering and adhere to the order from the Election regulatory body-the Independent Electoral Commission EC.
UPC spokesperson Sharon Arach Ayat claims her party is neither aggrieved nor the problem because Red has always been their color and therefore they cannot drag the NUP to court.
The aggressive talking Arach says that UPC cannot be dragged into this matter because it is between EC and NUP.

Her statements come after attempts by the EC to have the NUP change its dominant red color seem futile with the later insisting they will not stop using Red because it is one of the colors registered in their constitution that is in the custody of the EC.

However, the EC chairman Justice Simon Byabakama on Tuesday said that the EC already refused to accept an application by the NUP to use Red because it is being used by the UPC.
He warned of dire consequences should the NUP camp refuse to adhere.
“We accepted the request to change the name of the party but declined the request to change the colors from those of the old party,” Byabakama said.
Let us watch the space and see how it all plays out.
