Covid-19 has claimed yet another prestigious member of our society, Faustino Etilu, the chief of Teso Coach has passed at age 59- years-old.
Etilu contracted the deadly virus over 5 days ago and was first taken to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital in critical condition where he was put on oxygen supply.
However, his condition worsened and the hospital reportedly run out of oxygen causing his family to transfer him to Mulago National Referral Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit.
Etilu was rushed to Kampala on Monday evening but succumbed to COVID19 this morning at about 11 am.
An anonymous source at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital says the hospital had challenges with oxygen supply due to several power blackouts.
“The hospital has managed many COVID-19 patients including VIPs but the only challenge is lack of an Intensive Care Unit for patients. So far, all the referrals from Soroti are cases that need ICU unfortunately, the two that were referred (one to Mbale and now Mulago) ended up dying on arrival”, the source said.
Etilu built his empire from selling Waragi to becoming a proprietor of Soroti Flying View Hotel and founder of Amuria Transporters and Constructors Companya mong others.
