Police Cop Steals Motorcycle
A hunt has been launched for a police cop for the theft of a motorcycle Bajaj from a Boda Boda rider.
The cop only identified as Obong reportedly connived with his colleagues at the Sofia police station to grab the Bajaj motorcycle registration number UFC 373 X from its rider identified as Sadhati Gonga.
Gonga told police that Obong first approached him at their stage , close to the police station on Feb 13th, 2021, and asked to be taken to the police station.
Upon arriving , Obong rushed to the station counter and interacted with another cop before returning and demanding the motorcycle from Gonga.
Obong assured Gonga that he was only going to use the motorcycle to curb a suspected criminal dealing in counterfeit currency at the nearby Mawero village.
Gonga told police that he was asked to enter the police where he was introduced to the cop at the counter identified as Okiror from the Field Force Unit-FFU and a special police constable identified, Vincent who removed the motorcycle keys from him.

Gonga says after waiting for over 2 hours, Vincent returned and told him Obong had fled with the motorcycle.
Gonga says that he has since then tried to file a case at Busia central police station but the cops keep tossing him up and
Moses Kakiryo, the Busia District Police commander-DPC declined to comment on the matter when approached.
However, John Relx Achira, the Busia Resident District Commissioner, says that Obong was attached to Busia Central Police Station where he was given sick leave in January this year.
He says that as head of security in the district, he has launched serious investigations into the matter.
