The bitter lady lawyer is reported to have faced several challenges under Magufuli’s reign; one of them being in 2019, she was suspended from practicing in Tanzania. Apparently her suspension came after she filed a case, challenging the appointment of the Attorney General by the fallen president.

Subsequently, she was temporarily disbarred for her remarks during her submission of the case challenging the appointment of Prof Adelardus Kilangi as Attorney General of Tanzania.

“I had a long conversation with Elsie before she wrote this piece. I want to thank her for her eloquence. There are those who may believe that I celebrated when I heard of Magufuli’s death but the truth is a felt “RELIEF” and “GRATITUDE” for the possibility of a new beginning,”she added.

While Tanzanians are celebrating and heaping praises on Magufuli, Fatma has alleged that an additional 2 million Tanzanians have become poor during his tenure. She reveals that the poor were exploited for being poor in TZ.

“During his 5 years in power, an additional 2m Tanzanians became poorer. Yet it is these poor who are grateful to him for allowing them to turn pavements into stalls for their goods. I heard their interviews. It saddens me that they have been exploited for being poor.”
