“The whole country is in mourning for our beloved president John Magufuli…but during this period we received a report that there were four people who were mocking this tragedy, what they have done is an indication that they want to cause chaos and breach of peace in that region. We have arrested them and we are carrying on investigations, when we have all the evidence we’ll take them to court,”

The late President died on March 17, 2021 after succumbing to a short illness. State authorities announced that he died as a result of heart disease complications at a hospital in Dar es Salaam. However, conspiracy theorists believed he must have died after contracting the deadly Coronavirus disease and suffered from severe complications. Mr. Magufuli was one of Africa’s most prominent coronavirus skeptics and called for prayers and herbal-infused steam therapy to counter the virus.
