Security forces in Nakaseke district are investigating a suspected bomb explosion that has left one person dead and two others critically injured.
The incident happened today 9:00 am at the residence of one Robert Tumwete a scrap dealer in Kapeeka central ward, Kapeeka trading center in Kapeeka town council.
Eye witnesses say a metallic device exploded collected as scrap from a yet to be identified place exploded as the victims tried to store it . Moses Ssenfuma, the LC 3 Chairperson of Kapeeka sub-county says the the victims sustained broken limbs and multiple fractures after they attempted to crash the metallic object.
Police in the area are waiting for bomb squad to investigate the matter. This is the third metalic device to explode in Nakaseke in a space of less than two weeks .On Wednesday, a flying bomb exploded at the residence of one Sam Jjooga in Nvunanwa village, Semuto sub-county.No body was injured in the incident.
Three children from Segalye village in Semuto sub-county died two weeks ago while playing with a bomb. Investigations established that the bomb was a reminant of the National Resistance Army War of 1981-1986.
