A lustful clinical officer attached to Jinja Regional Referral hospital is in hot soup for reportedly raping a female patient undergoing surgery in the theater.
Juma Toola, 40, couldn’t keep his pants zipped after the victim, 20 years, (names withheld) approached the hospital for a medical procedure after suffering a miscarriage .
James Mubi the Kiira Regional Police Spokesperson says the victim visited the facility on December 29, 2021, for dilation and curettage procedure (procedure to remove tissue from the uterus). She was directed to Toola for a medical examination, prior to the procedure.
According to the victim Toola covered her mouth to stop her from screaming before raping her a long period before fleeing from the hospital. She says the suspect left her in a lot of pain with a big tear and blood oozing from the private parts. She later fell unconscious for close to three hours in the maternity ward where her abuser later dumped her.
Mubi says the victim reported the incident to Buwenge central police station and a rape case was filed on January 01, 2022. He says the suspect was subjected to medical examination by the Kiira regional police surgeon SP Vincent Masinde.

Toola was summoned but refused to turn up at the police station prompting his arrest.
“The suspect was summoned but couldn’t appear at police, till police changed tactics that led to his arrest yesterday, January 31, 2022. Police takes sexual assault cases like rape, defilement etc seriously and treats such cases with utmost confidentiality. After all inquires are exhausted, the suspect will be taken to court for prosecution.” Mubi said
