Following Zari Hassan’s mega flopped pool party at Pearl of Africa Hotel last weekend, many critics have since voiced their opinions on whether the classy socialite still has influence and star power on Uganda’s social scene.
Zari, who has in the past organized high-end and successful White Parties with pomp and glamour, hosted a pool party, but this time around, only attracted 20 revellers.
After registering a humbling flop, bloggers like Isma Olaxess a.k.a Jajja Iculi, were quick to pile more misery on the 41-year-old socialite. Iculi believes that the clock is already ticking for Zari and that that flopped pool party only served as a reminder that her influence is long gone.
“The writing is on the wall. Zari’s influence faded away after a long time. She should focus on charity work if she still wants to be relevant. The organizers paid her money, hoping she still had what it takes to pull crowds, only to count losses. If you are paid and then fail to influence even half of the people who used to come to your previous parties then, it simply means, you lost it. No one will ever pay again unless otherwise. In the life of every celebrity, there comes a time when they have to choose a different path to live a simple life and this is Zari’s time to act accordingly,” Jajja Iculi advised.
Meanwhile, Zari refused to swallow the pride as she instead blamed it on the organizers for failing to advertise the party extensively. She lashed out at critics, claiming that she had cashed in already.
“Let all dogs now bark at me. It is public knowledge that events flop. There is nothing new. I was paid. It is the planners who never did their job. I am a top brand. Some of you are criticising me yet you used table salt to brush your teeth this morning and are not sure of the next meal. By the way, I am trending,” she fumed.
