Uganda Biker’s association ; “to us he was an avid biker ” honour fallen Speaker with ‘Helmet’

Semukutu, President Uganda Bikers Association said the helmet is a gesture indicating that they have lost a member.

The Uganda Bikers Association has presented a white helmet as a symbol for the loss of their member and former Speaker of the 11th Parliament Rt Hon Jacob Oulanyah.

The late Oulanyah was a member of the Uganda Bikers Association. The association engages in charity, road safety and cancer awareness.
During his funeral service at his residence in Muyenga, Kampala, Angella Ssemukutu, President Uganda Bikers Association said the helmet, reportedly imported from abroad is a gesture indicating that they have lost a member.

“We have a tradition, We have lost a bow tie giant from the Acholi sub region, to us he was an avid biker , we chose white because Oulanyah is in heaven with angels and it is a pure colour that symbolises his character”  Ssemukutu said

On April 01, Members of the Uganda Bikers Association  set off from Kampala to Fort Portal in a memorial ride to honor their former colleague, Jacob Oulanyah. They have also requested to be part of the procession to Kololo next week in his honour.

Oulanyah spotted with Bike

Oulanyah stunned Ugandans on Friday, May 8, when he rode with swag into Parliament in a motorbike. The Deputy Speakert then, parked his bike accompanied by his security detail leaving the journalists and parliament security in sheer confusion.

“I am living my life!When I used to ride around Kampala, some errant driver knocked me around meatpackers- even when I had avoided him. That put a hold to me riding in Kampala but not in the village,”Oulanyah stated

The Speaker of the Uganda Parliament Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah was pronounced dead on Sunday 20th March 2022.

According to reports, he lost the battle to cancer after spending a couple of weeks on treatment in a U.S.A hospital.
