According to reports, on July 21, 2023, at 10:28 PM, Lutaseera and his wife, Kyazzike Norah Patricia, were returning home in his motor vehicle Reg. No UBG 169M. When they reached their gate, they called for Ssenyonga, the gate man, to open it for them.

However, upon entering the compound, two unidentified men on a boda-boda, each armed with a gun, suddenly appeared and opened fire, shooting both Lutaseera and the gate man. The assailants proceeded to rob them of approximately 80 million Ugandan shillings and their mobile phones.

The victims were quickly rushed to Doctor’s Hospital Seguku for urgent medical attention. However, they were pronounced dead upon arrival.

Kampala Metropolitan Police says that Police was immediately notified of the incident and responded to the scene. They recovered 12 cartridge shells and 7 live ammunition rounds from the crime scene. The motor vehicle, UBG 169M, was found at Doctor’s Hospital Seguku, showing suspected blood stains on the seats, a broken driver’s windscreen, and three bullet holes.

“The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to the city mortuary for an autopsy. The car has been taken into custody at Nalumunye Police Station as part of the ongoing investigation. The police are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heinous crime, and the investigation is underway,” KMP Spokesman Patrick Onyango says.

He appealed to members of the public not to move with large sums of money at night which may attract thugs.
