For months now, there has been this debate about Federations, associations, and conferences. Views have had to come through.
In fact, the views seem directed at Eddy Kenzo, the leader of the Musicians Federation, and Cindy Ssanyu, the head of the Musicians Association.
A number of Uganda’s musicians and some along the value chain seem to agree with the Association or the Federation. However, there are those who have refused to jump on any.
Legendary Shaka Mayanja of Jazz Safari says: Uganda Musicians, for short-term gains and all the grief that comes from intrigue, join federations or associations.” For long-term gains and bliss, join a Band or a Music School.
