Uganda’s most decorated artist, Eddy Kenzo has once again made the nation proud after earning a Grammy nomination for 2026, cementing his place among Africa’s biggest global music icons.

The Presidential Advisor and President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) received a nod in the Best African Music Performance category for his uplifting collaboration with Mehran Matin titled “Hope and Love.”
Sharing the exciting news with fans on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Kenzo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Recording Academy and everyone who continues to champion Ugandan music.
“A special thanks to the @RecordingAcad voting members. It’s another nomination and a milestone in our music history as Uganda. To my brother @MehranMatin7 — you’re a star, congratulations,” Kenzo wrote.
The Sitya Loss hitmaker will be going head-to-head with some of Africa’s finest, including Burna Boy (Love), Davido ft. Omah Lay (With You), Wizkid ft. Ayra Starr (Gimme Dat), and South Africa’s Tyla (Push 2 Start).

The Grammy Awards are slated for February 1, 2026, where the world’s top musical acts will be honored for their excellence and artistry.
This marks Kenzo’s second Grammy nomination, following his 2024 nod for “Gimme Love” alongside American singer Matt B, a feat that made him the first Ugandan artist ever nominated for the prestigious award.
