Police in the Kampala Metropolitan Area have launched a bold operation targeting the city’s most notorious crime spots, arresting 38 suspects in a two-pronged crackdown.

In Goma Division, Mukono District, officers stormed Bajjo and Seeta, areas known for opium smoking and robberies. 21 suspects were caught hiding in dens linked to criminal gangs and are now behind bars at Mukono Police Station.

Back in Kampala Central, police hit William Street, Kinamwandu Corridor, Nakasero, and Old Park, arresting 17 suspects accused of preying on unsuspecting passengers and traders. They are now held at Central Police Station, Kampala, awaiting court action.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala, warned criminals that the police will continue aggressive, proactive operations to make the city safer.
