When rising star Ramah Pinky walked into the powerhouse label Team No Sleep (TNS) in 2022, the industry held its breath. She was stepping into shoes once worn by Sheebah Karungi, a giant in Uganda’s music scene. Whispers filled the air… Could this teenage talent really survive the weight of such expectations?
Pinky didn’t just survive but she soared.
Under the sharp-eyed mentorship of TNS boss Jeff Kiwa, she lit up Uganda’s airwaves with hits like “Superstar”, announcing her arrival with unapologetic flair. The young artist who had once been underestimated quickly became a name audiences chanted, a force radio stations couldn’t ignore, and a rising queen the industry had to pay attention to.
But like many great partnerships in music, the journey wasn’t without turbulence. Rumors of indiscipline and alcohol use swirled around the camp, and eventually, Pinky and Jeff Kiwa parted ways. The split fueled conversations but not bitterness.
In fact, the person who knows Pinky best carries only gratitude.
“I am grateful to Jeff Kiwa because he made Pinky who she is today,” her mother shared with heartfelt sincerity.
“He made my daughter’s dream come true. I respect him so much, and Pinky also knows that.”
