The long-simmering rivalry has erupted once again, this time with Eddy Kenzo’s manager, Martin Beta, unleashing a blistering attack on Bebe Cool, questioning both his musical relevance and financial standing.

The verbal fireworks come hot on the heels of Eddy Kenzo’s omission from Bebe Cool’s annual music list, a snub that clearly didn’t sit well with Team Kenzo.

Appearing on a local podcast, a fired-up Beta held nothing back, boldly claiming that Bebe Cool has failed to deliver a major hit in over five years. According to him, Kenzo’s song “Nkulowozako” alone outweighs Bebe Cool’s entire body of work.

“Kenzo is far ahead of him. Just one ‘Nkulowozako’ song is bigger than his catalogue. He hasn’t had a big song in over five years, and the only reason people still talk about him is because of his lists,” Beta declared.

Beta went further to accuse Bebe Cool of harboring long-standing resentment toward Eddy Kenzo, dating back to Kenzo’s breakthrough collaboration with Mike Wine on the song “Yaniba.”

“He started fighting Kenzo from the beginning when he worked on ‘Yaniba.’ But he has lost badly. Kenzo is living a better life than him and remains on top in every aspect, musically and financially,” he added.

As tensions continue to flare, the latest exchange proves that the battle for supremacy among Uganda’s music heavyweights is far from settled.
